AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A strange encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden group.
The mission concentrates on "strange tests and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Features
Players who finish the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
